Long Time No See—Much Need Updates!

...though I think you can guess that the plan has changed…

Well, it’s been a while since I updated the blog…looking at my last post, it was actually the fall, in September. Oops 😬

After a break of about two years, which included steps to retire this pen name, September/24 I restarted most tools under my Annabel Allan brand—my BookBub profile, Amazon, Goodreads, and even this website.

I purposely left out social media profiles, as the initial plan was to keep the website as “home base” and forgo social media, due to my issues stemming from my prior presence in the indie author community. Reinstating my back catalogue and writing new content was also part of my overall vision, though I think you can guess that the plan has changed…

Social Media

Right now, I’m very comfortable with not having any socials directly affiliated with this brand.

However, I do have a personal Instagram account, which is why I say not directly affiliated, as I don’t plan on promoting on that profile. I’ve done a lot of work on my boundaries when it comes to social media, as well as keeping healthy habits (as healthy as they can be when it comes to social media, an unhealthy medium lol). I really don’t want to undo it all, keeping my mental health a priority.

I have no active plans for making any social media profiles for this persona. That doesn’t mean I’ve closed the door on it; if it’s necessary for me to create a FB and/or separate Instagram account under this brand in the future, I will do so. Right now though, I’m happy with my presence as is, and will play it by ear 👂

New Content

Like it says on the landing page for the site, there aren’t solid plans for new content. I don’t know when I’ll write new stories or when they might become available. It doesn’t mean they won’t happen—I have a giant folder of smutty story ideas that I would love to pen and get out into the world!

This also concerns my mental health though, as I want to work on stories that truly excite me and get the muse going, that I really want to work on because I want to work on them, not because it’s marketable.

I don’t think much is going to change when it comes to that, but I will update accordingly.

Smoke Chaser 🔥

The first book in the series (“Wildfire”) is up on Kindle Unlimited, so it’s free to read with your KU subscription, while books 2-4 (“Firestorm” “Fireline” “FireWhirl”) are available in digital on Amazon. The entire series is also available in paperback exclusively through Amazon.

I think I like this setup, for now. Of course, I’ll update if there are any changes. You can find all links here.

Goode Pain ⛓️

Initially, I was going to do edits on the first three books (“Edgeplay” “Hard Limits” “Rigged”) and self-publish them via KDP, just like Smoke Chaser. Well, that hasn’t happened, and I even took that tab down on the site.

My edit for “Edgeplay” actually ended being very, very thorough. I made some minor tweaks to the story, not adding anything new, but rewriting certain scenes that didn’t really work in hindsight. It made the story flow so much better, as well as gave Ava a softer, less robotic feel, making her feel a bit more…human, I guess 😆🤷🏼‍♀️

I am so in love with this upgrade that I’m going to do the same with both “Hard Limits” and “Rigged”, as well as the unreleased fourth and fifth books (“Headspace” and “Whiplash”). What’s going to happen from there? I really don’t know. Hopefully, I’ll have an update on that soon, but for now, it’s To Be Determined.

His To Keep 🫦

Both “Submissive Tendencies” and “Domino Effect” are still available in digital via Blushing Books.

On the third book (“Taming Embrace”), this is on pause again, mostly because I’m having issues with my publisher and getting a response about things going forward. I would very much enjoy writing that particular story, but this is a major hiccup. I haven’t given up on it, I’m just trying to get things sorted out. Stay tuned, I guess! You can find links here

I’m very grateful for those who have read my books and stuck with me while I navigate this messy road! It’s not just my mental health that’s been the forefront of things, as my physical health hasn’t been great since June/23; though I’m very obviously chronically ill, we do not yet have a diagnosis.

Having said that, it was actually by happenstance that we may have an idea what’s going on—there’s still a long road ahead of me, including specialists and specialized testing, and one of my separate, diagnosed ailments may require major surgery later in the year (another one, yeesh). BUT I’m glad we’re on the right track, rather than at a stand-still. A slight silver lining! I’ll take it 😅

I think that’s about it! I really hope that anyone reading this finds a little bit of hope in it; things aren’t perfect, but perfection doesn’t really exist. We should really aim for progress, not perfection. That’s what keeps my little caboose moving forward! ❤️

Xoxo Annabel Lee.
